Energize and Engage

Leadership Pulse

When I look at my particular score, I am surprised at how low my energy was when I completed the survey. Since then, I have found a renewal in energy levels and it is interesting to consider what factors lead to these swings, so that we can manage them better.

My own scores would change now because at the time I was doing too many things and more importantly, not feeling able to make progress on any of them. I was feeling blocked or obstructed by external factors. This creates frustration and takes away the energy needed to keep up the work effort. Since then, I have created space away from the factors that were obstructing me. I am still doing too many different things (!), but each day I am getting more tasks completed.

Therefore, for me a part of this may be if I can make space in my days to make some progress on important projects, then it is ok to have overwhelming quantities of work as long as these things move forward.

Were you scoring above or below where you would like to be?

How about now? Do you feel differently, if you were to rate yourself today do you think you would be higher or lower? What has changed?
